The Toronto Area Chief Building Officials Committee (TACBOC) is a voluntary association of Chief Building Officials from municipalities in and around the Greater Toronto Area. TACBOC was established shortly after the proclamation of the Building Code Act in 1974.

The Large Municipalities Chief Building Officials group (LMCBO) has been a strong advocate of building regulatory reform since its inception in 1990. With a Charter introduced in 2009, LMCBO is comprised of the chief building officials in Ontario municipalities with populations over 50,000.
